  • In Preparation for Signing a Student Exchange and Arabic Language Teaching Protocol: Prof. Mohamed Hussein Holds a Virtual Meeting with a Delegation from Lobachevsky University, Russia

    Today, Prof. Mohamed Hussein, Acting President of Tanta University, held a video conference meeting with a delegation from Lobachevsky University, Russia, to discuss academic cooperation in student exchange and teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. The Russian delegation included Prof. Semyon Alexander Pedny, Vice President for International Affairs and External Relations; Prof. Natalia Perinkova, Head of the Middle East Center; and Prof. Amr El-Dib, Coordinator of International Relations with the Middle East at several Russian universities. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Mamdouh Al-Masry, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Political Communication Advisor at Tanta University; Prof. Shahira Sharaf El-Din, Director of the International Student Welfare Unit; and Prof. Abdel Karim Abu Gabal, Director of the Arabic Language Teaching Center for Non-Native Speakers. Prof. Mohamed Hussein expressed his enthusiasm for strengthening cooperation with Lobachevsky University, emphasizing Tanta University's commitment to expanding partnerships with prestigious international universities. He highlighted that the university's strategic plan aligns with the national higher education and scientific research strategy, particularly in the internationalization of education. He also noted that Tanta University boasts advanced infrastructure, academic programs, and internationally recognized training centers, such as the Arabic Language Teaching Center for Non-Native Speakers, making it an ideal destination for international students. According to the implementation plan, Russian students are expected to begin their studies at Tanta University in the summer of 2025. Prof. Semyon Alexander Pedny welcomed the collaboration, expressing keen interest in expanding cooperation beyond Arabic language teaching to include joint research programs, language studies, summer schools, scientific conferences, virtual lectures and seminars, as well as cultural, sports, and artistic activities.
